...The Tamlyn-Serpa family’s very own website, now coming to you from Cotonou, the de facto capital city of West Africa’s République du Bénin.
Moving is always a painful process, and this one was particularly so. Both Lucy and I just loved our little “corner” in Chevy Chase, MD: we loved our house there; we loved our neighborhood and our neighbors; we had the best landlords anyone can have (thanks Amanda & Mark); it was great being once again close to old friends and family; and close to Bethesda, to the Tavira Restaurant, to the Chevy Chase Supermarket; and… no Tonic no more (where am I going to get my tots???) Well, you get the drift!
But life is what life is, so at the end of last month, the family—now reduced to its innermost core—picked up it bags and moved to Benin. Yes, we are back in Africa. These are exciting times for all of us, especially so given Lucy’s new job in this most wonderful country. So “hang around,” as I foresee lots of fun coming our way…
Our objectives for this site remain the same: to make it the privileged medium to keep our friends informed about us; and to use it as a way to divulge stuff that I have come across with, and that I think is of interest. This website site is "homemade" and "home-maintained," so this is not the place to come for the latest, snazziest stuff available on the net. I just hope that you’ll enjoy its contents!
Stay tuned! Jorge Serpa Cotonou, Benin November 19, 2015
